Looking at contacts?
See how much they've advanced!

We fit and prescribe most types of contact lenses - from disposable to custom-made soft and rigid gas-permeable.

Most prescriptions can be fitted accurately with disposable lenses which are generally easier to care for and healthier for the eye.

These daily, fortnightly and monthly replacement lenses can correct not only simple prescriptions, but also more complex requirements such as astigmatism or multifocal correction.

Today's new lens materials are more resistant to drying and allow much more oxygen through the lens to the eye, resulting in far greater comfort especially if worn for long periods.

Some complex prescriptions may require a custom-made lens in soft or rigid gas-permeable material.

Orthokeratology for myopia control, and a non-surgical alternative to laser surgery

Richard is one of the few optometrists in the eastern suburbs trained to fit Orthokeratology contact lenses, a rigid lens worn only when sleeping to correct myopia (short-sightedness).

When the lens is removed on waking, the user can see normally without the need for glasses or contact lenses. This procedure is a great non-surgical alternative to laser refractive surgery, especially for those whose myopia is still changing, or who are too young for surgery.

Orthokeratology contact lenses help slow the progression of myopia: great news for those who need increasingly strong prescriptions. It’s especially suitable for children and teenagers, the ages when most progression occurs.

For more information about these lenses, feel free to contact us or click here to visit the Orthokeratology Society of Oceania website.

Daily disposable lenses for myopia control

We also fit the latest daily disposable lenses that utilise a type of multifocal technology to slow myopic progression. We are an accredited prescriber of Cooper Vision MiSight, and NaturalVue myopia control lenses.
